History

Unless you were born and raised in So. Eastern Ma (primarily Fall River) or parts of Rhode Island, you wouldn't have a clue about the hometown tradition that is Chow Mein!


So the question is "What is Chow Mein"? Although there are many variations, the most popular is made with a mixture of onions, celery and bean sprouts in a savory brown gravy/sauce. In addition to adding ground pork (which was most popular back in the day due to being inexpensive) there are other tasty options which include chicken, beef or shrimp just to name a few. For the ultimate Chow Mein experience try topping your Chow Mein with fresh Lobster Meat! We didn't forget about the Vegetarians, omit the meat and repalce with more veggies. Some of our favorites are water chestnuts, bamboo shoots and shiitaki mushrooms just to name a few. However, just about any vegetable will work. That is what's so great about our recipe, you make it your own and the variations are endless! After preparing your gravy, pour it over your crunchy Chow Mein Noodles and top with meat of your choice is so desired. Go for the Lobstah!!!
